Wolff appointed Executive Director of Williams F1

Williams F1 minority shareholder and board member Toto Wolff has been appointed an Executive Director and Assistant team principal it was confirmed today.

Toto Wolff whose wife Susie Stoddart is the team's development driver has been a shareholder in the team since 2009 and the announcement comes just a number of weeks since Frank William's daughter Claire was appointed to the board of the team.

Wolff's new position also means that when Sir Frank Williams decides to retire from his position within the team he will hand over to Toto Wolff. Adam Parr had been seen as the natural successor to Sir Frank, however he left the team suddenly following the Spanish GrandPrix.

This news is a further sign that the team is looking to the future. The team have so this year had a great season as they have scored more points so far this season then they did during the entire of last season. Their points tally this season includes a win in Barcelona for Pastor Maldonado who scored the team's first win since 2004.
