Sentata Sports Ireland has announced that they will carry Live coverage of all 20 race's of the 2012 Formula One season. Last year Setanta carried coverage of all races, however they bought the commentator and live pictures from BBC Sport.
It is going to be extremely interesting to see what way Setanta Sports do the commentary. They have announced that they are showing Live coverage of Practise and the race coverage, however I believe what they are going to do is buy the coverage from Sky Sports. The reason I believe this is because Setanta used to employ former Jordan technical director Gary Anderson as their pit-lane reporter however he has been announced as the BBC's new technical correspondent.
When Setanta Sport took over the coverage of Formula One from RTE they had David Kennedy and Declan Quigley commentating from the grandstands during the each race so it will be interesting to see what Setanta do with their F1 coverage. If they are sending staff to each GrandPrix I believe that there is absolutely no way that they will be able to compete with Sky Sports F1 HD as BSKYB are investing millions of pounds into their coverage of the sport over the next coupe of years.
I do however believe that an Irish broadcaster has Live coverage of Formula One for 2012 no matter what form it takes even if it is bought from Sky which I believe it will be as Setanta Sports is available on subscription to Sky but is also available free to UPC Digital subscribers, as this June Bank Holiday Dublin will play host to Formula One as Bavaria City Racing comes to the street's of Dublin.
