New chassis for Massa in Malaysia this weekend

Ferrari confirmed today that Felipe Massa will be given a new chassis for this weekend's Malaysian GrandPrix after struggling for performance during last weekend's season opener in Australia. The Brazilian struggled for pace on Saturday and qualified 16th for the race.

He struggled throughout the race and eventually retired on lap 46 following an accident. Meanwhile his Ferrari team mate Fernando Alonso who also struggled in qualifying finished the race in 5th place after starting from 12th on the grid. The team were so annoyed with the result that while the rest of the team flew to Malaysia for this weekend's race in Kuala Lumper team boss Stefano Domenicali and technical director Pat Fry flew back to the team's base in Marnello for an emergency meeting.

The team have started preparing chassis 294 for Massa to use this weekend. They are hoping that the chassis change will help clear up any problems Massa had with the pace of the previous car.
