The Sahara Force India Formula One team has been ordered to pay former wind tunnel partner Aerolab £700,000 in damage's as a result of Force India's failure to pay outstanding charges. Aerolab later ended their agreement with Force India and went on to set up a partnership with the Caterham team (then Lotus)
where former Force India technical chief Mike Gascoyne was now employed.
Gascoyne was sacked by Force India in 2008 and went on to help businessman Tony Fernandez set up the Lotus (Caterham team). The court awarded Force India £25,000 for the accidental use of Force India intellectual property on the 2010 Lotus car. The matter has now been referred to the FIA.
In my opinion this is a crazy situation, and I think that the team's should concentrate on the racing and not the politics. This weekend sees the team's in Malaysia for round 2 of the 2012 F1 season. The race is Caterham's home race so hopefully the team will be able to have a good result.
