Hamilton fastest as Vettel heads to qualifying on the back foot.

McLaren's Lewis Hamilton once again topped the time sheets during final free practice ahead of qualifying for tomorrow's Abu Dhabi GrandPrix. The Briton had a trouble free session to lead a McLaren 1 - 2 with Jenson Button just 0.290s behind. It was a disasterous session for Sebastian Vettel and RedBull as the German suffered major brake problem's which severely hampered his preparation's for qualifying. Despite this however he was managed to set the third fastest time of the session, having only completed seven laps.

His team-mate Mark Webber was 4th fastest with Nico Hulkenberg showing that Force India have a strong package this weekend as he was 5th fastest. While watching practice is struck me that traffic was a big problem and driver's will have to get on track as early as possible in qualifying if they are to have a clear run.

It was a problematic morning for Fernando Alonso, Vettel's main title rival as he was caught in traffic and eventually ended the session in 8th place behind the Lotus of Romain Grosjean and the Williams of Pastor Maldonado. Kimi Raikkonen had a good session finishing the session in 9th place while completing some very consistent lap times.

The Finn feels that the team can use their new upgrade's to improve the car and get some good results in the last three race's of the season. The Iceman believes that the team are now back on target with the  car having fallen behind the top three in the championship in the development race.

Going into this weekend's race I firmly believed that Sebastian Vettel and RedBull would once again run away at the front, however his problem's in the practice this morning just show that he is not immune to mechanical problems. In my opinion it is going to be a McLaren front row lock out with Lewis Hamilton starting on Pole position. Now of course that is only my opinion and I could be completely wrong so we shall just have to wait and see what happens.
