Wolff makes F1 debut

Williams F1 development driver Susie Wolff made her eagerly awaited Formula One debut at the Silverstone circuit today. The Scottish driver, who signed for Williams in April of this year was taking part in a Williams sponsor day. Pastor Maldonando and Bruno Senna were also in action.

Susie was driving last year's Williams FW33. I believe that this is fantastic news for Formula One and it was brilliant to hear that she got her first run in the Williams car. I have no doubt that she will be back in the car very soon.

I wouldn't be surprised if Williams decide to give her a run out during a Friday Free Practice session before the end of the season. Valterri Bottas is the team's current test and reserve driver, but I believe that it would be fantastic to see Susie take part in a Friday practice session this season.

She is currently competing in the DTM series in Germany and that season comes to an end this weekend in Hockenheim. So I wouldn't be at all surprised if we see Susie at the Indian GrandPrix next weekend and we could potentially see her in the Williams car in Abu Dhabi the following weekend. She holds a an FIA Super Licence.
