Sebastian Vettel showed that he is certainly one to watch this afternoon for pole position for the Singapore GrandPrix as the RedBull driver topped the timesheet's for the third session in a row. He finished just ahead of McLaren's Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari's Fernando Alonso. The big surprise of the session was the pace set by the Force India of Nico Hulkenborg as he finished the morning in fourth place.
Kim Raikkonen and Lotus seem to have recovered well from the problems they encountered yesterday as the Finn was 5th fastest in the E20. So that is a good indicator for Qualifying. While one side of the RedBull garage were happy with their morning's work the other side had a lucky escape as Mark Webber hit the barrier hard with his rear tyre that could have resulted in a broken rear suspension, fortunately for the Aussie he escaped with just a flat tyre, however he is now down a set of tyres heading into quali.
Despite his problems Mark finished the session in 11th place splitting Michael Schumacher and Jenson Button. There appears to be no threat of rain for qualifying and the final practice session was dry so that is a great sign as running qualifying under the light's in the rain would in my opinion be insane.
There was some great news for the Singapore event organizers as they have just secured a new contract to host the race until the 2017. This is another piece of the jigsaw puzzle in place as it was provisionally on calendar yesterday when the 2013 listing's were released.
So stay tuned to BJF12012 for the latest action and reaction from Qualifying in Singapore.
