Hamilton calls speculation over his future rubbish

Lewis Hamilton has spoken publicly about his future for the first time since he was linked with a move to Mercedes at the end of this season. The McLaren driver who is out of contract with the Woking based squad at the end of season. He said today that the rumors surrounding his future are rubbish and he has decided what he is going to do next season and is concentrated solely on the task at hand and that is winning this year's championship with McLaren.

It is going to be extremely interesting to se what happens in the next couple of day's but I believe that by what he is saying he will be staying at McLaren next season and should Schumacher decide to retire from the sport, Mercedes may slot Paul Di Resta into the seat alongside Nico Rosberg.

However should Hamilton leave the team there is speculation that Sergio Perez has been lined up to replace the Brit as he has major backing from Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim and the Telemex telecommunications group and according to reports Vodafone, McLaren's title sponsor are keen to use Telemex to get into the Latin American market.

It has also been speculated that the money that Carlos Slim and Sergio Perez bring to McLaren would be used to pay the reported £8 million pounds that McLaren will have to pay for the supply of Mercedes engines. In my opinion that would leave Vodafone and Telemex to share the cost of paying Sergio Perez's salary at McLaren.

I have to stress that this is all purely speculation as nothing has been announced regarding the driver line-ups for next season.
