Schumacher tops day two with 2011 Mercedes

Michael Schumacher topped the time sheets on day of pre-season testing at Jerez. Schumacher, driving the 2011 Mercedes with 2012-spec Pirelli tyres completed 132 laps setting a fastest time of 1.18.561s, Mark Webber was second for RedBull on his last day before handing over driving duties to Sebastien Vettel tomorrow.

Yesterday's pace setter Kimi Raikkonen finished the day 5th overall with a best time of 1.20.239s. The Finn endured a difficult second day running wide onto the gravel in the morning causing slight damage to his Lotus E20. He makes way for Romain Grosjean tomorrow but will be back behind the wheel of the Lotus for the second preseason test in Barcelona on Tuesday 21st February.

It has been a great return for the Iceman so we shall see how Romain Grosjean fairs tomorrow.

Testing continues tomorrow morning,
